Salwa Zeidan Gallery
Salwa Zeidan Gallery is a Contemporary Art Space conceived by its director, Salwa Zeidan as a platform for the Internationally recognized Middle Eastern artists and an incubator for the emergent talent from the greater Gulf region.
The gallery regularly curates independent and collaborative exhibitions with other eminent International galleries and curators such as Jean-Marc Decrop, and seminal educational institutions such as Zayed University with its most notable projects being the Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium (ADISS) - a perfect example of the gallery's involvement in the development of the local contemporary art scene.
It is through symposium Director Salwa Zeidan's vision and the collaboration of Zayed University that this project has eventuated after two years of concept development and pre-planning. The format of the Symposium, to showcase 17 internationally recognized sculptors in Abu Dhabi aligns with the director's personal mission to bridge the gap between the oriental and occidental by importing the best art practices the world has to offer.
The Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium is then a perfect example of Salwa Zeidan’s involvement in developing the local contemporary art scene. As its artistic director, it is through her vision and in collaboration with Zayed University that this project has eventuated after two years of concept development and pre-planning. The format of the Symposium, to showcase 16 Internationally recognized sculptors in Abu Dhabi aligns with the director’s personal mission to bridge the gap between the oriental and occidental by importing the best art practices the world has to offer.
In addition to nurturing local talent, the gallery has become renowned for its selective representation of some of the region's most prominent artists.
